Dr. MacPherson
As a Board Certified prosthodontist, Dr. Pamela MacPherson prides herself on the excellent care she provides her patients. Her proven expertise and amazing team instill comfort and confidence. Her patient’s complete satisfaction is how she measures her results.

Why is Board Certification a Big Deal?

Few prosthodontists achieve Board Certification. Why? Because it’s a lot of hard work – and few are qualified. It takes up to 4 extra years of exams and proof of expertise to become a Board Certified Prosthodontist (American Board of Prosthodontics Diplomate). To maintain Certification, Diplomates must demonstrate their commitment to continuing education – always keeping up to date with the latest technologies and treatments. ABP Diplomates are the top in their field, teaching other Prosthodontists by presenting scientific lectures and publishing articles.

Specialist in treating Complex Dental Problems

Dr. MacPherson is regarded as a specialist in treating complex dental problems. Patients who need oral reconstruction from such things as mouth trauma or oral cancer rely on her to create a natural-looking smile. She is exceptional at restoring esthetics and function. She understands the dynamics of a smile and how it relates to the face and long term function of the teeth.

Dr. MacPherson loves learning

She started her advanced education with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UCSD before earning her dental degree from UCLA School of Dentistry. Afterward, while completing her Certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics, she demonstrated her mastery by becoming Chief Resident at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles. Dr. MacPherson is a former UCLA faculty member and she currently is a volunteer instructor for the Prosthodontics Residency Program at the VA hospital in West Los Angeles. Now, her love of learning persists throughout her career – and it shows – in the meticulous and conscientious attention she gives to each patient.

She is an active member of The American College of Prosthodontists, The American Dental Association, The California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society, The Academy of Osseointegration, San Diego Prosthodontists Society, and Summit Dental Study Group. She supports continuing education for her staff because her team’s education is just as important to her.

Having grown up in Spring Valley, Dr. MacPherson is delighted to be practicing in her home town and to be able to cheer for her favorite baseball team, the Padres. Her hobbies include in-line skating, cross-stitching, photography, exercising and collecting Garfield Stuff.
