Lorraine is a passionate Dental Hygienist who hails from a small town in New Jersey. She earned her AAS in Dental Hygiene from Union College in Cranford, New Jersey, where she graduated on the Dean’s list. After working a year in private practice, she decided to go back to school to complete her degree in Dental Hygiene. She earned her BSDH in 1986 with honors from Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. Her major was dental hygiene education and minor office management.

Since completing her degree, she moved to San Diego and has continued to pursue excellence in dental hygiene by attending advanced courses in periodontal therapy, dental laser training, oral cancer detection and patient education. She routinely surpasses the biannual requirement for license renewal of 25 hours of continuing education. She feels continuing education is invaluable to maintaining a current knowledge base for the dental hygiene care she provides for her patients. She is active in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association as well as the local component, San Diego County Dental Hygiene Society. She is most passionate about treating and arresting the progression of periodontal(gum) disease in her patients. She believes her patients are active participants in the process of achieving optimal oral health which can also impact total body health.

Lorraine is married and a custodial step-mom to a teenage daughter. In the warmer weather she spends time at Mission Bay sailing with her husband. An avid Chargers’ fan, she has been known to travel far and wide to watch them play. With a passion for travel and Cirque du Soleil, she will go just about anywhere in the world to see a show. She is also “mom” to a blue and gold macaw named Merlin and a tabby (former) stray named Mooch. She looks forward to meeting you and working with you to achieve your best oral health.
